Would a Profitable Match-Making Service pair You to Your Clients?
It’s Marketing as a topic this week in the PTP Class, so I’m thinking a lot about Ideal Clients. If you don’t know who you want to reach, it’s impossible to find them! If you don’t know why you are a match for them, it’s imposible to tell them!
Think about it this way – if you and your current clients went to a dating service what are the chances that you’d be introduced? Take a look at your clients (or at the niche you wish were your clients) and think about it from a dating service standpoint. If your business and your profit depended on matching YOU to a good partner – would this be a pairing you would bet on? Because…..drumroll please…..you are betting your business on it right now!
If you don’t know who you want to ‘date’ in your business, how can you hope to succeed? Or if you want to ‘be with’ everyone, how can you have a relationship with anyone? It’s time to get very serious about the traits, problems and profile of your ideal business client!
Fortunately, choosing a client is not quite the same as making a marriage vow – but it is important to make a committment to a service area and a customer profile so that you can develop lasting relationships that will benefit all parties.
