Why HAHD* is Like A Rash?

*The ezine.com contest: Hundred Articles in a Hundred Days

The idea got under my skin when I first heard about it.  I felt sort of like the only time I got hives (two days before my first wedding, if you really want to know) – on edge, slightly out of control, and irritated.  What an idea!  Who did this Jeff Herring guy think he was?

For several days, I managed to ignore the whole thing.  But, like a brush against poison ivy, something was there, dragging my thoughts back to it.  Small idea bumps began to appear.  Something began to itch in the corners of my mind.  It became impossible to ignore.

Finally, I had to sign up.

Now, days and ten articles later, I can’t leave it alone.  Like a surreptitious scratch, ideas that come to mind are run past the “Could this be an article” filter.

Even boring TV shows (calamine for the Brain) spark ideas.  Or worse, do not contribute anything to my itchy thought process, and I am left scratching for a workable topic.

Surprisingly, others I have talked to have either been exposed and are writing already; or they are easily infected with the highly transmittable contest and rush to the nearest computer to sign up.

I’m not sure what the cure is, but July is fast approaching, and I have many words yet to write!

Gotta Run!
