Immovable Object or Inspired Action – Which are You
There’s a lot of buzz about being sure that the actions you undertake come from a place of inspiration – that they are inspired action and create inspired results. But this is complicated by the fact that some things that we simply must do, are singularly lacking in the ability to inspire us.
Here’s a couple of simple steps that can help you tell if this is something you should do:
First, if you feel a ‘pull’ to take the action and you are not moving, you are creating resistance. One thing can only pull against another that other is hesitating or resisting the movement. In this case, the ‘pull’ may be your guidance, and you may be the immovable object.
Secondly, give in a bit to that nudge and see which way the current is running. Does it appear to be headed toward the end result you crave – or is it sweeping you in another direction.
If you’re headed away from your goal, stop. The pull will be lessened, for you have taken some action on it, and now can release it’s hold on you, for you know it is not productive.
If you’re headed in a good direction, relax your resistance and go with that flow.
If you’re headed in a good direction, but for some reason, you still don’t want to ‘do’ it, then an attitude adjustment is in order. After all, if you’re progressing toward your ultimate goal there’s no need to waste your own energy fighting yourself. Find a way to think different thoughts about this action or job. Your own attitude will change a chore into a step toward your dream.
